Butterknife 

This dance was choreographed to Fiona Apple's Hot Knife. Performed in a Baltimore dance studio. Shot live. The difficulty in this one was that we were working with low level light while also shooting movement, and the the constraint that made it a real creative challenge was that I was working without flash or strobes, so as not to interrupt the show in anyway. I had to shoot wide open at F/1.4, which also gives it that shallow depth of field and creamy blur, separating the subject from the background. But the challenge in that is it is very hard to keep the subject in focus with such a razor thin margin of error, while they are moving. But once pulled off, the result maximizes the drama of the piece.
